So down to
the photo bit of the weekend and wot that will all entail..............

Equipment
you would need:
Right
… basically this one is simple. Whatever camera equipment
you are able to bring will be brilliant ... whether it’s.............
1)
SLR
2) Digital
3) Throwaway/disposable cameras (serious )
Of
course, the more flashy cameras give you better options and can
enable you to do more ‘stuff’ …. But in my book,
it’s all about the eye … as in your eye … aiiii

So don’t worry if you don’t have any flashy gear. In
my time at Uni and the likey I’ve seen a looot of proof that
it’s about the eye and not the equipment!
If
you are camera-less … give me a shout and I’ll see
what I can do to sort you out. Please let me know as soon as possible
though to give me time to arrange something.
Level of yer photo-taking of proficiency:
Ooo
it’s gonna be kaleidoscope of proficiency levels ... which
is one of the things that’s gonna make it rock!
Some
of us will have more knowledge on the subject than others so can
help with advice etc and those of you who are new to the art ...
well you’ll bring a fresh eye to the subject and will without
doubt have a lot to teach us oldies.
So
basically it doesn’t matter if you don’t the difference
between focusing on the road ahead when driving ... or focusing
the lens when photo-taking ... We’ll all just pitch in and
help each other out ... a case of all students and no teachers.
Photo activities that we’ll be getting up to: ..........…
and remember … what’s not compulsory ? ..............non
of the following ... aiiii
Ok
so some of you may turn up to the Lakes with ideas of what you would
like to photograph while you are there which is all wicky wacky
woooo … break a leg n’ all that
But
for those of you who don’t … I’ll have a few ideas
on hand for you.
1)
I’ll be making some small laminated cards up that you can
take out and about on location with you that will have ideas for
mini-projects / subject matter / ways of thinking about photography
and images etc. These will be available when you get there and they’ll
be more than enough to go around.
2)
For those that find they are not well enough to
go out and about taking photos but could get up to some photo mischief
in the Hostel, I’ll have a book with me that was recommended
by a friend with ME whose also a brilliant photographer (sadly he
lives in New Zealand so won’t be joining us). This book basically
helps you to think about seeing your home or surroundings in a fresh
light as often it can ............................................
I used to get set projects within the home when I was at college
and can tell you they were the toughest kind of project for exactly
these reasons.
If
you wanna get a heeed start and check this book out yourself, perhaps
get a copy from your local library ... click here
'Home
Photography - Inspiration on your doorstep' by Andrew Sanderson,
published by Argentum (if you buy through Amazon give me a shout
first so I can set up a link for you to raise some pennies for Brainfog
... click
here to find out more about that)
I’m also thinking it would be cooool if after our photo-taking-of
… we all discussed what we’ve been up to and the photos
we’ve taken … swop tips and thoughts etc … give
each other feedback (of the supportive kind … aiii) …
BUT only if we not too flumped out after the actual photo-taking-of
… it’s all totally flexible ... and the feedback is
not something that has to be immediate ... can be done the next
day or over dinner etc etc
If you have any ideas about stuff we could get up to over
the weekend or things you’ve thought you would like to do
… then please do pipe up … you should have me e-mail
but for those who don’t … ally @ brainfog dot org
