So that’s the day in a nutshell!
You
will have to provide your own food or bring money to buy from vendors,
which I expect will be present, or from a cafe. You might find the
music entertainment will be very loud, so be prepared with earplugs
or a ride to somewhere quieter. I have also done a little snooping
and Karen Noble is a soundalike of Barbara Striesand… so be
prepared with earplugs or a ride to somewhere quieter
You can find her at www.karennoble.com
The
Red Devils should be amazing to watch so bring binoculars
(which you will probably need to see the pier anyway)
You can check out their site www.redevilsonline.com
The Adur Concert band also have their own website www.theadurband.freeserve.co.uk
Where to be....
There will be two large screens set up on the east and west sides
of the pier for you to view the birdman action. As people are usually
sat like sardines on the beach there will be much more space and
a clearer view by the screens. If you want to sit on the beach you
are totally welcome but you might have to be there early to get
a good spot.
The official place that you should make your way towards is the
EAST screen. If you were looking out to sea it would be on your
left but on a map it would be on the right. You can show up, and
leave, whenever you choose. There are ramps placed around the area
so being in a wheelchair shouldn’t be a problem.
As Ally and I will be on the pier, Sandy Petty (Ally’s mum)
and Judy Abraham (my mum) will be the Foggers you turn to should
you need help or information. You can see their mug shots below,
don’t be swayed by their motherly looks, they will sort you
out if you misbehave.
There will be a map soon showing where you can be dropped off and
various car parks in the area. ~
Check back here for updated information soon.
