All about Antony

Antony came into the picture quite late in the game (I was starting to panic about not finding anyone!!) but when I saw his offer to be our jumper – well his wife Wend’s offer for him to be our jumper – everything fell into place. I sometimes wonder whether Antony knows what he has gotten himself into but having someone so closely connected with Brainfog couldn’t be better.

Antony has been married for ten years to his lovely wife Wend, who has been affected by ME for the whole of their married life. They live together in the Midlands with two dogs, Tammy and Dill, Barney the guineapig, and a huge (and scary looking) fish called Oscar

Antony’s story…

I'd heard of Brainfog, Wendy used to tell me what was happening on there, but I never paid it a great deal of attention. That was until a meet was arranged in Snowdon. All of a sudden I was going to find out what this group was about. After a great weekend with not just ill people but people like me, caring for partners and having to work to pay the bills, I became more interested in reading and replying to bf threads. Now, bearing in mind that I work nine hours a day and then go home to cooking etc, I like to do something different every now and then, so when I saw that a volunteer was needed to jump off a pier I thought it's not often you get to do things like that so I replied and said 'if you cant find anybody else I'll do it'. Within an hour I was the nominated idiot.

The details I received after that did leave me wondering if it was such a good idea. I'm a quiet person in real life so the idea of performing on stage did concern me a bit but I figured it's a one off, 99.9% of the people there won’t know me and won’t care, and it will be an experience for me, so in the name of charity I'll give it my best shot. The jump itself should be fun, if a little scary, and that’s the part I'm going to enjoy.
