| Antony’s
story…
I'd
heard of Brainfog, Wendy used to tell me what was happening on there,
but I never paid it a great deal of attention. That was until a
meet was arranged in Snowdon. All of a sudden I was going to find
out what this group was about. After a great weekend with not just
ill people but people like me, caring for partners and having to
work to pay the bills, I became more interested in reading and replying
to bf threads. Now, bearing in mind that I work nine hours a day
and then go home to cooking etc, I like to do something different
every now and then, so when I saw that a volunteer was needed to
jump off a pier I thought it's not often you get to do things like
that so I replied and said 'if you cant find anybody else I'll do
it'. Within an hour I was the nominated idiot.
The
details I received after that did leave me wondering if it was such
a good idea. I'm a quiet person in real life so the idea of performing
on stage did concern me a bit but I figured it's a one off, 99.9%
of the people there won’t know me and won’t care, and
it will be an experience for me, so in the name of charity I'll
give it my best shot. The jump itself should be fun, if a little
scary, and that’s the part I'm going to enjoy.
