Ally:
What is your online nickname?
Katie: Katie (used to be blightygirl in the past but now
I’m plain old Katie, or I could be the artist formally
known as blightygirl and get myself a fancy symbol…)
Ally: What is your role on The Fellowship of the Fog? i.e.
Mod Squad/Chat Host
Katie: I’m the Thursday night chat hostess (8pm) and
I moderate the Official Gathering Section where you can
check out information on our larger official projects when
they are running and also the links and notices sections
where you can find many gems of links and advertise your
own links and sites (within the rules of course, no dodgy
stuff or explicit diaries, Brainfog is for all ages)
Ally: How many candles appeared on your last birthday cake?
Katie: Didn’t you know it’s rude to ask a lady
her age? Ah well, I’m still young, I’ll use
that line when I’m of a certain age. I’m 19.
Ally: On what date do you regularly blow them out?
Katie: The 13th March
Ally: Location?
Katie: Shropshire

Ally: How long have you had ME/CFS?
Katie: 8 and a half years
Ally: What valuable lessons have you learnt from your illness
and what gifts has it brought to you?
Katie: I’ve learnt the importance of feeling sad and
down but not letting it take hold and drown yourself. You
can end up so deep that you can’t get yourself out.
I’ve learnt to be happy, I’m content with all
I have now and even though I’d like to be a bit better
I don’t need that to make me happy. I was always wanting
a bit more to be happy and never got there, I couldn’t
ever reach that place where I thought I could be happy as
I always set it up just ahead of me. I’m still ill
but I have so much to be grateful for, the people who’ve
come into my life have a lot to do with my outlook, they’ve
had a huge effect on me, and the time I’ve been able
to spend with my niece and nephew as I’ve not been
in school. I’ve also learnt the importance of having
a comfortable bed.
Ally: What do you regret most about your illness ?
Katie: Nothing, it’s the path I was meant to walk.
Ally: How many piercings do you have and where?
Katie: Currently two but I used to have five, two in each
ear and one in my nose which I miss but it hurt like hell!
Ally: What is the best gift that you’ve ever received?
Katie: My car
Ally: Galaxy or dairy milk?
Katie: Dairy Milk (Mmm, fruit and nut is even better)
Ally: What is your favourite word or phrase?
Katie: Wonderful, I seem to write it a lot
Ally: Whats your favourite food to chomp on?
Katie: At the moment it’s Marks and Spencers Teacakes,
so many ways to eat them
Ally: What is your favourite movie/s?
Katie: Bridget Jones’s Dairy or something more highbrow…
bah, that chick flick rules.
Ally: What is your most prized possession?
Katie: I don’t really have one, I just hold on to
things that remind me of good times like a metro ticket
from when I went to Paris or a magnet that I bought at the
Bognor Birdman Competition that I helped us get into.
Ally: What is your favourite drink to drink?
Katie: Simple tastes, apple juice. Or champagne on occasion

Katie: He’ll be reading this, I’ll keep him
guessing

Katie: Cut my toe nails? Why?
Ally: Who is your personal hero?
Katie: So many people but special mention to my mum and
dad
Ally: Coke or Pepsi?
Katie: Diet coke or Pepis Max, I couldn’t pick a favourite,
would be unfair ;)
Ally: If you could live in any other part of the world than
you currently do, where would that removal truck be heading
to?

Katie: Being happy
Ally: What does you heeeed in the most?
Katie: Computers when they don’t do what I say and
hitting them doesn’t work.
Ally: If you could do it all over again, what would you
do different?
Katie: That’s a tricky one, I’ve been through
a lot but it’s gotten me to a place where I’m
really happy but I would watch less bad TV. Only the good
stuff.
Ally: What was your most irrational act?
Katie: I’m a totally rational person. Honest.
Ally: What was your most humbling experience?
Katie: Realising in a chat that I didn’t know anything
about how complex the heart was after shutting that side
out of my life.
Ally: What 5 words best describe you?
Katie: Determined, loving, passionate, analytical (of myself),
imaginative
Ally: What
